About This Game
Snapshot
Sliding wood block is a pure lane-and-space puzzle in the spirit of classic traffic-jam and wooden-brain games. Rectangular pieces sit in a crowded tray, each one constrained to its own horizontal or vertical lane. Your task is to free the key block and guide it to the exit by shuffling every other piece into temporary parking spots without ever lifting them off the board.
Bullet Points
Spatial reasoning • Few rules • Increasing board size • Undo on some levels
Play Pattern
The fastest way to get stuck is to focus only on the target block. Instead, work backward from the exit and ask which piece physically blocks that path, then which piece blocks that blocker, and so on. Because no diagonal movement exists, every solution is about manufacturing just enough lane space in the right order. Many boards include tempting moves that feel productive because they move a large piece a long distance, but if that move does not create escape space it is usually noise. Short, reversible slides are often better than dramatic ones. If the game offers undo, use it to test a local rearrangement rather than resetting the entire board after one dead end.
